A Snowy Night in Southeast Texas!

For the second time in my life in Southeast Texas, it actually snowed! The first time was only four years ago on Christmas Eve as I'm sure no one that lived here will ever forget. There have been other times where we saw snow flurries but it melted before it ever really hit the ground. The snow last night was covering the roofs and grass for a short while and our neighbor was actually able to build a snowman that was about 3 feet tall.

As soon as I heard on tv that it was snowing in Houston, Autumn and I went outside to see if we could catch a glimpse of some snow. I wasn't expecting much and at first we saw tiny pieces of snow. We went in and I thought that was it. Later on in the evening we looked out the window and the snow was really coming down! Shelby was taking a late nap and I could not get her up but I put whatever I could find that was warm on Autumn and we headed outside. Autumn loved it! Later on after Shelby woke up she got to go outside and see it, too, but she wasn't as crazy about the snow. It was too cold and wet for her! I only wish the snow was still on the ground this morning so the girls could really play in it. Guess we'll have to go somewhere else for that one day!

Our first trip out to try and see some snow...

Later on when it had just started snowing...Autumn ran around in circles in the driveway!

Sticking her tongue out trying to catch the snow...

Our neighbors across the street had just gotten a new puppy and were trying to get it to go potty . I don't think that happened.

Shelby looking quite hoboish! I just grabbed whatever I could find that was warm and put it on her!

This is the best picture we got of me...Corry was at the music store so Autumn took a few of me and since it was dark outside my head didn't make it in the other two shots!

Later on last night I tried to take pictures of the snow outside and the snowman but it was just too dark. Here's proof that they did build a snowman, though!

How crazy was that? We didn't get any pictures, unfortunately. Maverick was running fever again, and I wasn't going to bother getting him all bundled up. We did watch it from the front door though!! I couldn't believe it came down for so long.
