Corry's Mom's Mom (Mimi) passed away last weekend at the age of 75. She had actually fallen and broken her hip the same day that Corry's other grandmother passed away. She had other problems that were discovered after breaking her hip and is in a much better place now, especially after the past 5 weeks or so. We will all miss her but are glad that she didn't have to suffer anymore. Please pray for our family who has suffered the loss of two people close to us in such a short time. I am sad that my children weren't able to know Corry's grandmothers longer, but am also glad that they WERE able to know them for a short while.
Death has been a fairly new topic in our household with Autumn. She knew that we had family members (and pets) that had died when she was little and before she was born and gone to heaven but that was about the extent of it. She has been surprisingly grown up about it both times we have had to tell her about her great grandmothers. This past time we told her and she got very sad looking and told us "The problem is, two people cannot die." We comforted her and told her Mimi and Granny were old and their bodies were broken and they had gone to heaven to be with Jesus. She suddenly got sort of happy and said "Well, then, they're sisters now!". That is so incredibily wise yet simple!
I always loved this picture of Great Mimi & Poppy dancing with Autumn...
Here they are with Autumn on her first Easter...
She was so in love with her great-grandbabies!
We will all miss you Mimi.

Steph and Corry,
Julie recently let me know about your Mimi. I am so sorry. I am glad the girls had the time with their great-grandparents that they did, and am really thankful that you have such priceless photos of those memories.
Continued prayers for you as you field more questions about heaven and death. It is not easy to find simple answers in these teachable moments... especially without crying sometimes.
Much love!
Wow, what beautiful pictures of the girls with Mimi. I'm sure those are some very cherished memories.
I know these last few months have been pretty rough for the Westinghouse family. Our prayers are with you and we wish we were closer so that we could be with you guys and offer more than prayers. We miss you all and hope to see you very soon.
That makes me SO sad! She was a FINE lady and her laugh will always be remembered!!
We will be praying for Corry, the girls, & all that loved her...
