8-Year Anniversary in Galveston

Corry & I celebrated 8 years of marriage last week and at the last minute decided to take an overnight trip to Galveston and stay at the San Luis. We took the kids with us and went to Moody Gardens and went to the Discovery Museum, Rainforest, and rode the paddlewheel boat first.
We had a little bit of a rough go on this first day. The kids were just out of sorts and both having a bad day for whatever reason. We kept having bad luck starting with not being able to swim the first evening because someone had thrown up in the pool. We also had a nice, but kid-friendly restaurant in mind, Gino's Italian, that we found was closed on Tuesdays when we got there so had to find an alternative. We didn't have a working tv upon check-in and it took several hours to get someone up to our room. They were all minor set-backs considering we were able to swim all the next day, found another restaurant and had a good meal, and got the tv working (important since you can't leave the room at night with kids and that is about the only option after the kids go to sleep).
We had a great day the next day, though, starting with breakfast and we then swam all afternoon in the pool. The San Luis has a really nice pool and slide overlooking the beach.

The kids at the Discovery Museum at Moody Gardens...Autumn just looks wild in this picture, very fitting for that day.

In the rainforest...

The paddlewheel pictures aren't even worth posting. It was REALLY hot!

On to the next day, a picture of the slide and waterfall at the San Luis.

On our way to the pool after breakfast.

I'm so glad Autumn is able to take a picture for us! 8 years married and 14 years together!

The pool...

Autumn and Shelby had a blast on the slide.
