My B-day

I had a fun birthday with the family. We started out at the girl's school at Splash Day, actually put on by the church, then Gammy came over and ate lunch with us, and then the girls helped me make cupcakes in the afternoon (quite a lengthy process with these two!). Shelby required a bath before it was all over!

When Corry came home from work we went out to eat Mexican food and took the girls bowling for the first time. We all had a really good time. The girls had their own lane next to us so when it wasn't Corry's or my turn we would switch off and help the girls. They really needed a little lighter ball, the lightest we could find was 6 pounds. If they had had a 4 lb ball it would have been a little easier for both of them. They still had a blast, though. Autumn was very preoccupied with "winning" which was a first for her. We only played one game but that was just about perfect for Shelby's attention span.

The girls helping make our "homemade" cupcakes!
Look at Autumn's mouth- she's already been sampling the chocolate!

Putting icing on the cupcakes- Autumn actually did all of hers by herself, Shelby required a little bit of help but did pretty good, just got a little messy in the process.

Autumn took a lot of time perfecting her sprinkles!

Shelby sprinkling...

Shelby after she was finished! She didn't like all that sticky stuff on her so we headed off to the bathtub. She just can't help but make a mess no matter what she does. She's the complete opposite of her sister in that manner. Autumn is very careful not to get dirty.

Ta-da!

Later on that evening after we finished eating...

BOWLING!

Shelby looked so cute in little bowling shoes- they were actually about a size too big but that was the smallest they had!
Daddy showing them what to do...

Autumn excited that she hit some pins!

The anticipation is so great when the ball rolls at the speed of a sick turtle!

And sometimes when the ball goes so slowly they also just lose interest!

Shelby looking very satisfied after that roll even though it hasn't made it to the pins yet!

Autumn snapping our photo in-between turns!

It was a good birthday.
