The girls' school had a "Red, White, and Blue Parade" on the Friday before the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Carly and I joined them in the parade around the neighborhood.
Both of the girls made posters to carry in the parade as they chanted "USA"
Autumn and one of her new friends
Autumn and several of the girls from her class
Shelby's Kindergarten class
Carly in her red, white, and blue

I love this idea- as far as I know there was no discussion about it at our school. I kind of wish they had. The kids know who Bin Laden is and what he did cause they heard about his death- big stuff for little kids, but I think a little exposure is healthy.
