Well, Thanksgiving this year is one we will surely never forget. Two weeks before Thanksgiving, Corry fell backwards off of a hay trailer. His foot was stuck under a hay bale as he fell and he did major damage to his knee and leg. He ended up having reconstructive knee surgery the day before Thanksgiving and we spent the holiday at home with him recovering. The kids (except Shelby on Thursday because she started with fever Wednesday night & a recurrence of Strept throat symptoms) went with my parents to my Aunt Susan's house on Thanksgiving and all three kids went to Derik & Crystal's house on Friday for Thanksgiving. We luckily had antibiotics leftover to start Shelby on Wednesday so that she wasn't contagious on Friday. It has been a whirlwind!
We are now approaching three weeks post surgery for Corry and he is doing well. He started Physical Therapy last week and is able to walk without crutches a little bit. He is hoping to be completely crutch free in about a week. He is still working up to being able to sit at work for longer periods of time and has been working half days. His recovery will be a process over many months but he will eventually get back to where he was, if not stronger. We were most thankful this Thanksgiving that his accident wasn't worse than what it was.

We really missed you and Corry!!! Glad to hear he is recovering and doing better. I know it has been a painful, difficult process and there is still a long road ahead, but you are absolutely right to be thankful that it wasn't worse (as are we). We love you guys very much! Hope to see ALL of you soon.
