The New Year

We had a nice and peaceful New Year's Eve this year. Corry ended up working until 6:30 and we decided to go eat at a local German restaurant with the girls and then rented "How To Train a Dragon." The girls both made it their goal to stay up until midnight for the first time on NYE and both of them made it. We almost had to get toothpicks to hold Shelby's eyes open but she did it! Autumn is a nightowl and had no problem. We made chocolate chip cookies to ring in the New Year and watched Dick Clark/Ryan Seacrest in New York on tv.

We went to the Festival of Lights at Moody Gardens on the evening of New Year's Day. We all had a good time with the exception of Autumn being disappointed that the iceskating rink was too busy for her to try out iceskating for the first time. We had also told her that their was a train that you could ride the last time we were there a few years ago but they didn't have the train that night. We had a lesson on being grateful and appreciative for still getting to do something fun even if you don't get to do everything you wanted. :)

Happy New Year!

Seems like we are always having to have the "being grateful even if you don't get everything you want" lesson. I'm not sure it's sticking. Alli also really wants to try ice skating. I'm pretty sure it would go disastrously but we may try it sometime soon.
Happy New Year!!
